Join us on our “tree-change” adventure in rural Galicia. Leaving our city-based jobs in Sydney, and our neat suburban cottage, we travelled to Galicia in May 2018, where we bought a partially-restored 17th century house. We are based in a tiny hamlet outside the village of Ferreira de Panton, 15 km from Monforte de Lemos.
Heath is a chef, with 30 years international hospitality experience, who cooks everything from French classic cuisine, to Middle Eastern, North African, Italian, Greek and Indian rustic favourites. Sarah works as a freelance proof-reader, while Heath teaches English and employs her cooking skills as a private caterer.
We will host writers’ retreats while we work a small-holding on our land, with chickens, ducks, and a pair of goats. Our produce will supply Casa Girasol with fine seasonal, organic, food, which we will swap with local friends and neighbours.
