Tomorrow at a laidback Aussie pub we see 20 friends and acquaintances to say goodbye. I have mixed feelings. I think we will see quite a few of them in our B&B in Spain, but I hope that time and distance does not erode our footprints on the tide. We will make new friends in Spain but some of these people date from many years ago – before we were a couple, before we were middle-aged, before now and that is irreplaceable. I hope to stay in touch with our circle.
